Artistic Shots -- I try to "see photographically," and paint with a camera.
When I was working as the PIO of the
City of High Point, NC, I had the opportunity to go out with the Fire Department
as they practice burned a deserted house. I call this "Flametree."
And this one I call
"Firewall." It is the fire burning through the external siding
of the house.
I shot a lot of black-and-white when
I worked for the City. Can you guess what this one is? It's standing
under the new radio tower, looking straight up.
Brick wall through broken
glass. HEY! It's artistic. My daughter understands it.
Ansel Adams I am not, but I admire
his use of light and shadow and contrast.
I pre-focused on a branch where I had
seen dragonflies land, and waited. And waited. And waited.
After about twenty minutes hunkered down in the hot July sun in the middle of a
Virginia swamp, he finally landed and I got my shot.
I was doing a portrait shoot of a
friend and her daughter, on the campus of a community college, when I noticed
this guy at the base of a tree.
Yes, I take a lot of pix at the
beach.
